any more flames inside this home, this brown home you are looking at right here. we've seen flames pop up and shoot up. the fire chief said he thinks there are hidden spots right there. they are keeping an eye on it right now. they've been turning the water on and off. the firefighter came down. that may be a good sign. we have some daylight. you see the blue two-story home in the background and then this brown home in front of, right in between that, there was a single-story home. that's where the fire started. that home doesn't exist anymore. no one was hurt in this, but it was a really tough fire. a huge puddle, this home has flooded by the thousands of gallons of water they have used to fight the fire. you can see the fire trucks that are up there. we just walked up there in the last 15 minutes. we want it show you new video to give you a perspective. this was when the where the was coming down on top of the fire. you can see what they were dealing with in else it of access and what they are -- in terms of access and what they were going through. there are no fire hydrants here. th

brown's charter schools he started in oakland. i'm the secretary treasurer of the board. we transform lives. we have about 700 kids. almost none of their parents have gone to college, almost all the kids do, and almost all the kids graduate in four years. so, it's wonderful, wonderful experience. the other thing i've done here, i was foreman of the civil grand jury back in 2001-2002, worked closely with ed harrington and the auditors and the city attorney. we did two investigations which i was directly involved in on the subject of purchasing, how i was kind of curious how san francisco buys stuff and then i've done a bunch of that. after leaving the grand jury, we had a chapter, local chapter of the california grand jurors association. i was president of that for three years. we do recruiting, interviews and training for new people on the civil grand jury. one of the people on that grand jury -- this was 2002, was in the first cycle of the people on this committee, arlene singer. she served two cycleses and tells me it was a great experience, a great committee and something i would l

great mayors, willie brown and ed lee. and the minute that they saw gabby they said ron, get everyone's attention here. we can make 200 people be quiet. we have to make a tribute to what happened today in sandy hook, and a tribute to gabby. and during that tribute which was pallpable, i could tell that the tech community was going to do something. and we did. on december 15th, we started an ad hoc committee of tech volunteers, many of them luminaries in the industry. and we convened three subcommittees that went to work. and we had a defining conference call on december 17th, 72 hours after the tragedy. there were 150 people on that call. 50 of them gathered together in an office in san francisco. and we took action. we resolved that we were going to do something, we convened into the subcommittees that very quickly rallied around the governor of connecticut asked for a moment of silence on the one-week anniversary of the tragedy. so we rallied around that and attracted hundreds of thousands of participates by signing a petition on causes, that i launched, and then we also us
